Active Stage

Most of the weight is lost in Stage 1 which is also known as the active stage (these results will vary from person to person – see our PronoKal studies for more information). We will help you achieve your weight loss goal with the guidance of our multi-disciplinary team (doctor, dietitian, personal trainer and psychological advisor). The length of time you will spend in the ‘Active Stage’ depends on your weight loss goal.

Physiological Adaptation Stage

The remaining excess weight is lost while the body adapts to the physiological changes it is undergoing. Specifically, the patient’s hormonal system, basal metabolism and insulin levels will become stabilised. These changes, together with the gradual reintroduction of all types of foods and the incorporation of new dietary habits and a healthy lifestyle will help the patient maintain weight loss in the long term.

Maintenance Stage

Once the patient reaches their target weight, they are monitored regularly to help maintain their weight. This stage is personalised for each patient and depends on their energy requirements . It combines traditional food products and PronoKal® Maintenance products. PronoKal maintenance patients have 2 years free follow up.
